The Hippolytan Project is a self-defence initiative for women and LGBT groups in London, which aims to provide low-cost practical training, bringing together techniques from various martial arts. Unlike other self-defence classes, we are committed to providing our student with practical self-defence that does not rely on superior physical strength or an assailant who follows a set of "rules".
Classes are designed by experienced male and female martial arts instructors and include techniques for prevention, escape and evasion. We believe that these classes provide more than knowledge of self-defence but also aim to build confidence, foster empowerment and enhance fitness. We are proud to have received a Level 1 Award from UnLtd, the Foundation for Social Entrepreneurs.
